We are so excited to finally welcome you to Morden Lake.
Set within a secluded lakeside woodland in Dorset, Morden Lake is a place we have dreamed about creating for a long time. A venue shaped by nature, calm water and open woodland, designed for couples who want a wedding in the woods that feels effortless, romantic and deeply connected to its surroundings.
From the very beginning, our vision has been simple. To create a place where celebrations feel unhurried, where nature sets the tone, and where every wedding feels personal and meaningful.

Our Experience Creating Wedding Venues
Morden Lake is the newest chapter in our journey as wedding venue operators. We are also the team behind Abbots Court and Almer Manor, two much loved Dorset wedding venues that have hosted countless celebrations over the years.
At Abbots Court, we have become known for relaxed countryside weddings with character and charm, while Almer Manor is a historic house set within beautiful gardens, offering a more formal but still welcoming setting. Together, these venues have allowed us to work closely with couples, suppliers and planners, and to understand what truly matters on a wedding day.
Everything we have learned from running Abbots Court and Almer Manor has gone into the creation of Morden Lake. From the flow of the day, to how spaces are used, to the importance of flexibility and warmth, this venue has been designed with real wedding experience at its heart.

A True Wedding in the Woods Experience
Morden Lake offers a genuinely immersive wedding in the woods experience. Ceremonies take place beside the water, framed by trees and birdsong, while the elegant tipi provides a beautiful space for dining and evening celebrations.
Forest paths weave through the woodland, opening out to the lake and ceremony space. The layout allows your day to unfold naturally, moving from lakeside vows to relaxed drinks by the water, followed by feasting and dancing beneath canvas and lights.
It is a setting that feels both refined and relaxed, offering the beauty of the outdoors with the comfort and care of a thoughtfully run venue.
Wildlife, Stillness and Natural Beauty
One of the things we fell in love with first at Morden Lake was the wildlife. Swans glide across the lake throughout the day, fish ripple beneath the surface, and birds nest within the surrounding woodland. The sound of birdsong and the gentle movement of water create a peaceful atmosphere that guests notice the moment they arrive.
The lake and woodland change with the seasons, offering soft spring colours, warm summer evenings, rich autumn tones and crisp winter light. Every season brings its own magic, making each wedding feel entirely unique.
A Venue Created for Meaningful Celebrations
We have intentionally limited the number of weddings we host at Morden Lake each year. This allows us to give every couple the time, attention and care they deserve, and ensures the venue always feels calm, exclusive and personal.
Morden Lake is a place to gather, to celebrate and to slow down. A place where long conversations, shared meals and unforgettable moments can unfold naturally.
Join Us for Our First Ever Open Days
In April 2026, we will be opening the gates to Morden Lake for the very first time. Our inaugural Open Days will take place on April 18th and 19th 2026 and offer couples the chance to experience the venue exactly as it will be on a wedding day.
The venue will be fully styled so you can explore the lakeside ceremony space, wander the woodland, step inside the beautifully dressed tipi and imagine your own celebration here. Food will be provided by Asado Fire Kitchen, drinks will be served by the water, and our team will be on hand to welcome you and answer any questions.
There are just 8 exclusive wedding dates available for 2026 and Open Day spaces are limited.
